First Learning Tree Daycare Policies and Procedures

Welcome to First Learning Tree Daycare!

We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for every child in our care. Please carefully review our policies and procedures to ensure a smooth experience for all families.

1. Hours of Operation

  • Monday through Friday: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Closed on weekends and major holidays (see Holiday Schedule).

2. Enrollment and Attendance

  • Enrollment forms, including emergency contact information and medical records, must be completed prior to your child’s first day.
  • Notify the daycare by 9:00 AM if your child will be absent.
  • Consistent attendance is encouraged to support your child’s development.

3. Arrival and Departure

  • Sign your child in and out daily using the designated log or app.
  • Children must be accompanied by an authorized adult during drop-off and pick-up.
  • Late pickups (after 6:00 PM) will incur a fee of $1 per minute.

4. Health and Safety

  • Sick Policy: Children must be fever-free (without medication) for 24 hours before returning.
  • Medications can only be administered with a completed Medication Authorization Form.
  • All staff are trained in CPR and First Aid.

5. Nutrition

  • Morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided.
  • Parents must notify staff of any dietary restrictions or allergies.
  • Outside food is not permitted unless pre-approved.

6. Behavior Guidance

  • Positive reinforcement and redirection are used to encourage appropriate behavior.
  • Physical punishment is strictly prohibited.
  • Persistent behavioral issues will be addressed with parents through conferences.

7. Emergency Procedures

  • Fire and tornado drills are conducted monthly.
  • Emergency evacuation plans are posted in each classroom.
  • Parents will be notified immediately in the event of an emergency.

8. Tuition and Fees

  • Tuition is due by the 5th of each month.
  • Late payments will incur a $25 late fee.
  • Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee.

9. Communication

  • Monthly newsletters and calendars will keep families informed of upcoming events.
  • Parent-teacher conferences are held twice a year.
  • Concerns or questions can be directed to the daycare director.

10. Parent Involvement

  • Volunteer opportunities are available and encouraged.
  • Parents are welcome to visit their child’s classroom at any time.

11. Personal Belongings

  • Label all personal items, including clothing, bottles, and lunch containers.
  • Toys from home are not permitted, except for designated show-and-tell days.

12. Withdrawal Policy

  • A two-week written notice is required for withdrawal from the program.
  • Tuition will not be refunded for absences during the notice period.

Holiday Schedule

  • The daycare is closed on the following holidays:
    • New Year’s Day
    • Memorial Day
    • Independence Day
    • Labor Day
    • Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday
    • Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
